Cobb County Libraries Encourage Kids to Read this Summer
Who said the library was just for reading books? We should re-shift the way kids think about the library itself as well as learning. The summer is a great time to do it, so when the fall semester comes around their approach on learning is enriched!
Get the kids off the couch this summer and take them to Smyrna Public Library (or any other Cobb County Library). They have made it a point to create cool summer programs for Smryna residents to find an alternative to sitting and reading a book.
For example, kids in the Smyrna Library summer program can pick whatever kind of reading material they want (be it magazine, funny book or thesaurus), track their progress and cash in for prizes and certificates. More incentive programs are also in place.
On top of that, are the alternative events and daily activities kids (both young and old) can engage themselves in. Cobb’s Central Branch has the following events planned: July 14th–Showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows [Pt 1], July28th–local Cobb medical examiner will be a part of a “show n tell’ activity for kids 13 and up!
